The upper floors have served many purposes over the years, for example as an infant clinic, municipal social offices etc. However it was in 1999 that the Guesthouse Akureyri took over the upper floors, and established there a family-friendly guesthouse. It's ideal location in the town's centre, has made it one of the most popular guesthouse in Akureyri. It is within easy reach of diverse services, such as shops, cinemas, theatre, swimming pool, restaurants, cafés and discos / bars.
