[21/08/2008] This hotel and spa offers more than you can handle in a single weekend. The hotel is build on the hillside, with an exeptional architecture. It is large, but barely visible from the street. The large rooms are very comfortable, and all rooms have terraces. Also the hotel has direct access to the spa, so you don't have to get dressed when you go from your room to the spa and sauna's. The hotel restaurant offers good quality and room service is excellent.
The spa is one of the biggest in the Netherlands. The mineral baths are warm, and quite large. You can swim in and out of the building. Th

[21/08/2008] This hotel has a small number of exeptional rooms. All with their own atmosphere, in a great surrounding. The rooms are large and each has its own features. The roman bath in my room was excellent. The furniture in the rooms is in style with the rest of the chateau. Since there are only a few rooms there is no bar, but there is an excellent restaurant, more than worth trying. My room had a view over the Geul valley. A valley that attracts to long walks. The path that leads along the river to Valkenburg is really a great walk.
[20/08/2008] I stayed once in hotel Du Commerce in Middelburg. It is a typical city hotel, without any features. The room was very small, and the hotel offered nothing. Fortunately the hotel is located in the centre of Middelburg, with plenty of restaurants, so don't be afraid to get bored. Parking is possible in front of the hotel, and is free in the night (at the time I stayed there...) For Middelburg there are definetely better choises.
[20/08/2008] This small family hotel is located in the old town of Middelburg. It is situated in a 17th century house and has a small number of rooms. I stayed there often, over a couple of years in the '90's and almost became a family member. The rooms are good and nice, breakfast exellent, but their real attraction is the restaurant. The Provencal restaurant is run by the daughter of the hotel owner, and is located in the basement of the hotel. It is one of the best restaurants in Middelburg. The regular visitors of this hotel are more or less culinary attracted. The location of this hotel is great, in t

[20/08/2008] The Chellah hotel is one of those you find everywhere in Morocco. It has this atmosphere of a rich past. The rooms are o.k., but not luxury, and like everywhere in Morocco, only a few TV channels. The price of the rooms is quite good. I had a room with a large balcony and a beautiful view on the garden. Dinner I had in restaurants in the Médina, and there I met a retired porter of the Chellah who showed me pictures of him at the Chella swimming pool in the 60's. It looked really quite a bit newer then. It is a very nice place to stay for visiting Tangier, and offers everything you need for a c

[20/08/2008] When I arrived at the Menara Gardens it was a sunday afternoon, and the gardens were full of people having a picknick, making music and dancing. A lively atmosphere that did good to the whole settings of the Menara. The water basin and the buildings around it are very nice, and a small café offers the opportunity to relax in the shade and see all Marrakech passing by. The view on the (in february) snow tipped Atlas mountains is beautiful. When I was there a floating stage was put up in the basin to perform plays in this great scenery.
[20/08/2008] This restaurant, located in a small street, close to Bastille, is one of my favourites. I have been there already several times during the last years, for lunch and dinner, and I was never disappointed. The restaurant preserved wonderfully the belle epoque atmosphere, and it's French cuisine is excellent. Also the lunch dishes are worth trying. When going there, take the time to experience the menu served. And that's easy in this really beautiful restaurant.
[20/08/2008] This good restaurant has, as the name suggests, a real Jazzy atmosphere. There is life music, and the service is excellent. The quality is good, but the restaurant is not the cheapest in town. Their menu has a good variety, from tagines and couscous to steak and pizza. I noticed the interior attracts Swedish people, because it is in yellow and blue. I had dinner there several times during my stay at Agadir, and all the time very pleasant and a good quality.
[19/08/2008] Staying there in the dark days before christmas, the city of Dublin has a great atmosphere. The Burlington hotel has a great restaurant and bar. When my colleague and I could not decide on the desert, they just gave us a bit of everything. (And that was a lot...) It's one of the examples of the hospitality I experienced. The hotel is located in the city centre, so discovering Dublin could easily been done by foot.
[19/08/2008] This hotel brings you the classic atmosphere of the old Lisbon. Being renovated in 1998, I stayed there in march 2000 for a couple of nights, to explore Lisbon. The hotel has no special features, but is beautifully furnitured and shows off the hotel-palace atmosphere of the 1890's. I had there a great stay, and could from there explore all the city centre by foot.
