The Colchester Road Baptist Church is located north of the city centre, along the ring road that surrounds it. Easy to find but why should you want to ?
It's a very contemporary terracotta coloured building that sports a huge grey cross on its front facade - no traditional spire or tower whatsoever, and no striking architectural features that would attract tourist to stop and make some pictures or admire the features. Don't get me wrong, it's not an ugly building at all but without the cross one could easily mistake it for a community hall, sports hall or similar public building of that size. To me it isn't an attraction at all - it serves to provide the members of it's congregation with a roof over their heads and does that probably well.
The interior is as modern as the exterior and there are no relics or striking windows. It's a normal working church that provides a number of community services next to regular sermons. So unless you are a visiting member of the Baptist Church and looking where to go for Sunday service - save yourself the way as there is probably nothing that will interest you. I'm not a Baptist, neither is any member of my family, and couldn't think for one reason why anyone who also isn't should want to visit the property.
