[más]The Ercan International Airport is situated near the village of Kırklar, around 23 km to the east of the capital city Nicosia. Built during the second World War by the British it is today the main passenger airport of the de facto Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The airport handles up to 100 flights per week and has recently been provided with a new terminal and sports two runways. Direct flights to Ercan are only possible from Turkey, passengers who arrive from other destinations will need to stop-over in one of the major airports in Turkey.
Ercan International Airport offers a variety of amenities and services, such as car rental, 24 hr restaurants, car park, duty free zone, snack bar, ATM's and a VIP lounge.
