At the side of this road, in 1283, 'Donna Nobile Hospital was built while in 1334, in a nearby building, Convent of Santa Maria Maddalena was located. Parallel to the main street of San Gimignano is Via delle Romite whose name comes from that ancient, until 1810 active convent.Currently this completely restructured building, where a medieval Hospital was even placed, offers comfortable, peaceful rooms and flats for those people who want to enjoy the atmosphere of a medieval town with its ancient buildings, churches and lanes.
